Kitty O'Shea's in Orlando, Florida near Disney World. We visited on Sunday at the opening.

The restaurant is in the rear of a building, with an outdoor patio and a seating area around the indoor bar.

Before we review the sandwich, I must share some observations about the bar. DISCLAIMER: I am a former brewery owner and brewer and tend to be very sensitive to details most might not notice.

In a word, the inside of the bar smelled of spoiled food or beer. Likely this was caused by not thoroughly cleaning the floors under the bar regularly with bleach or another cleaner. Bacteria will grow in the nutrient-rich spillage and cause a unique odor. In addition, the covering on our table was blistered in a way that it could not be completely sanitized. The walls had paint defects and remnants of posters that had been ripped off the walls. We almost walked out but, in the interest of the quest for Florida's best B.O.W. - we stayed and ordered. Service from the bartender was pleasant. The manager/ owner? was there but did not interact with any of the patrons.

We asked for rare roast beef and order a side of fries. The food came out quickly.

The beef was well done and warm, but there was not a trace of Au Jus anywhere on the meat or bun. Score 2 Points.

The roll was a corn meal-covered Kaiser topped with sprinkled salt and caraway seasoning. It was toasted but it was not dipped in Au Jus.

When I picked up the roll to take this photo nearly all the topping fell off.

I was gentle but by the time I cut it in half and was ready to eat - I was left with a corn meal-covered Kaiser roll.

Corn meal on the bottom of a pizza - that works! Corn meal on a BOW is a horrendous travesty again the entire BOW-eating population. Of course, this is only my opinion (Corn meal aficionados and manufacturers - Sorry)

Score 1 point.

The Au Jus was actually quite good. Excellent flavor and dippable served in appropriate quantity. Score 1 point.

The Horse Radish on the other hand was a disappointment. It looked the right color and smelled like horseradish, but had little taste and no bite. I used the entire supply on a half a sandwich. Score: 0 points.

The pickle was missing. Score 0 points.

The overall Score is 4/10

This is one of the lowest scores to date. My suggestion is to visit the New York Beer Project Score 7/10, Hinckley's Fancy Meats 5/10
